The Jazz shot extremely well last night (51.2% from the floor) and out-rebounded the Clippers 40-32.  Those are the two big reason the Jazz won the game.

Jazz pair to miss a few games

Blogged under Front Page,Injuries by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 14 November 2006 at 9:24 pm

Guard Gordon Giricek (tendonitis in Achilles) and Andrei Kirilenko (ankle) will each miss a few games.  Rookie Ronnie Brewer will start in Kirilenko’s spot.  Also look for Matt Harpring to get alot of extra minutes to cover for Giricek and Kirilenko.

Centers

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 14 November 2006 at 8:00 pm

Mehmet Okur really had an outstanding season last year averaging 18.0 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.  Okur is kind of an odd center because he shot over 200 3-pointers last season and still did a good job of rebounding.  His combination of being a good open court player and an outstanding shooter creates mis-matches for the Jazz when they’re on offense.  For his career, Okur has averaged 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

Rafael Araujo is basically just a banger in the paint.  Araujo has averaged 2.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game over his two-year career.
