Andrei Kirilenko is an awesome player for the Jazz.  Nobody in the NBA fills up a boxscore like this guy.  Last season, Kirilenko averaged 15.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.  Kirilenko is a good rebounder, shooter, and an outstanding shot-blocker that often comes out of nowhere.  For his career, Kirilenko has averaged 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.6 blocked shots per game.

Matt Harpring is an outstanding bench player for the Jazz.  Harpring always hustles on the court and it rubs off on his teammates.  Harpring has averaged 13.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game over his NBA career.

Jazz holds off the Bucks 113-111

The Jazz held off a furious rally from the Bucks in the 4th quarter to win the game.  The Bucks out-scored the Jazz 42-27 in the 4th quarter and Michael Redd scored 57 points in the game, but the Jazz held on for the victory.  The Jazz shot 53.8% from the floor in this game and out-rebounded the Bucks 44-29!

Carlos Boozer was great again with 32 points & 10 rebounds.  Deron Williams was outstanding with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 15 assists and 5 steals.  Matt Harpring hit the game-winning lay-up and had a solid game with 17 points & 7 rebounds.  Rookie forward Paul Millsap scored 15 points & grabbed 5 rebounds.  Mehmet Okur only shot 1 for 9 from the floor for 3 points, but he still grabbed 11 rebounds.

This was a great win for the Jazz as they improve to 6-1 on the season.

The Jazz shot 53.2% from the floor and really had a good offensive game last night.  Carlos Boozer had another great game with 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists.  Deron Williams was outstanding last night with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists.  Memhet Okur continued his fine play this season with 23 points and 7 rebounds.  Andrei Kirilenko scored 9 points & blocked 5 shots.

The Jazz are rolling along and now stand at 5-1 on the season.

Jazz finally lose a game, 96-89 to Nets

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 9 November 2006 at 1:53 am

The Jazz out-rebounded the Nets 48-31 and still lost the game.  Carlos Boozer had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.  Deron Williams scored 14 points and dished out 5 assists.  Mehmet Okur & Matt Harpring each scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.  Derek Fisher (15 points) & Gordan Giricek (11 points) each helped out on offense.  Andrei Kirilenko had a rough night shooting the ball hitting only 2 of 10 from the floor, but he was very active.  Kirilenko scored 6 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.

The Jazz need to win games like this one when they dominate the boards like they did.  Maybe the win last night over the Pistons took alot out of them.

Jazz gives great team effort in 103-101 win over the Pistons

It took everyone on the Jazz to get this victory over the Pistons who fought hard.  Mehmet Okur scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.  Carlos Boozer had another great game with 20 points and 11 rebounds.  Andrei Kirilenko was very active with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocked shots.  PG Deron Williams led the Jazz offense into battle with 14 points and 7 assists.  Derek Fisher (12 points & 7 assists) and Gordan Giricek (13 points, 6 of 6 shooting), both came off of the bench firing and the Jazz needed every point they got.

Power Forwards

The Jazz absolutely stole Carlos Boozer from the Cavaliers.  Boozer has been a little injury-prone since coming to the Jazz, and that has gotten management mad at him.  After this season, the Jazz will love him if he stays healthy.  Boozer is a great rebounder and has a soft jumper near the basket.  Boozer has averaged 14.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.  Look for Boozer’s numbers this season to be better than his career norms.

Jarron Collins will be the back-up to Boozer.  Collins used to be the starting center, but he will do fine as a back-up.  Collins has averaged 5.6 points & 3.9 rebounds per game.

Jazz dominates the Warriors 106-82

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 5 November 2006 at 10:49 am

The Jazz built up a 60-41 halftime lead and coasted in the second half to victory.  The Jazz shot 51.2% and held the Warriors to 38.4% shooting.  The Jazz also pushed around the Warriors on the glass, out-rebounding them 51-34!  The Jazz were led by center Mehmet Okur who scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Carlos Boozer has another solid game with 17 points and 14 rebounds.  CJ Miles (17 points) and Matt Harpring (12 points) also pitched in on offense.

The Jazz have the look of a playoff team.

Jazz beat Suns 108-104 with huge 4th quarter

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 4 November 2006 at 4:08 am

The Jazz came into the 4th quarter losing the game 83-77.  The Jazz then out-scored the Suns 31-21 in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.  The whole starting front-line of the Jazz scored double-doubles on Friday night.  Andrei Kirilenko (17 points, 14 rebounds), Carlos Boozer (21 points, 12 rebounds) and Mehmet Okur (13 points, 11 rebounds) dominated the smaller Suns.  Deron Williams scored 12 points and dished out 6 assists.  Matt Harpring (17 points) & Derek Fisher (18 points) helped out in the win.

Jazz push Rockets around 107-97

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 3 November 2006 at 11:27 am

As alot of teams in the NBA are trying to go small and play “Suns ball”, the Jazz are using the tired and true method of being bigger and badder than their opponents.  The Jazz out-rebounded the smaller Rockets 47-36 and shot 52.7% from the field to beat the Rockets.  Carlos Boozer led the way with 24 points & 19 rebounds!  Mehmet Okur scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds.  Second-year point guard Deron Williams scored 18 points and dished out 10 assists.  CJ Miles (12 points) and Derek Fisher (13 points) did a good job of splitting the shooting guard spot.

Look out for the Jazz who are flying under the NBA’s radar.  If they stay healthy….they will be real good!
