Jazz has productive draft

The key to the Jazz continued success as a franchise has been their ability to draft well.  Paul Millsap has played very well as he has played in 21 games and has averaged 16.3 minutes, 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game so far this season.  Millsap is also hitting a great 57.4% from the floor.

Ronnie Brewer was also a good pick and a future starter.  Brewer has played in 18 games and has averaged 12.9 minutes, 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game so far this season.  Brewer has hit an outstanding 52.1% from the floor so far this season.

Dee Brown has played in 12 games and has averaged 8.4 minutes, 1.3 points, 0.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game so far this season.  Brown has had shooting problems as he’s only hit 20% of his shots from the floor.

Jazz prevail 101-79 over the Mavericks

The Jazz took it to the Mavericks!  The Jazz outrebounded the Mavericks 42-26 and held them to 37.7% shooting from the floor.

Carlos Boozer led the way for the Jazz with 31 points and 11 rebounds.  Deron Williams did a good job of directing the offense with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists.  Matt Harpring played tough and had 15 points and 8 rebounds.  Andrei Kirilenko was active as always with 10 points, 6 assists and 4 blocked shots.  Derek Fisher added 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Jazz improved to 16-5 with this win.

Jazz fall to T-Wolves 110-103

The Jazz just didn’t play any defense on Friday Night as they let the Wolves shoot 51.2% from the floor.  Deron Williams did a good job of directing the attack with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists.  Mehmet Okur had a decent game with 18 points and 4 rebounds.  Derek Fisher had a good all-around game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Andrei Kirilenko (12 points, 5 rebounds) and Matt Harpring (10 points, 4 rebounds) both helped out on offense.  Carlos Boozer had an off-game shooting as he only hit 4 of 17 from the floor.  He finished with 8 points and 13 rebounds.

The Jazz fell to 15-5 with this loss.

Jazz cruise to easy victory over the Bucks 101-88

The Jazz raced out to an 86-64 lead after three quarters and them cruised to victory.  The Jazz shot 50.6% from the floor and out-rebounded the Bucks 48-34.  The Jazz also played great on defense holding the Bucks to 38.1% from the floor.

Carlos Boozer had another fantastic game, scoring 30 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists.  Mehmet Okur had a great game in the paint with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists.  Andrei Kirilenko had a solid game with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Deron Williams directed the offense well with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Jazz improved to 15-4 on the season.

Deron Williams improved play in his second season has been a big reason why the Jazz have played so well this season.  Williams has averaged 16.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game so far this season.  Williams also has shot a very respectable 46.9% from the floor.  Williams is doing a very good job of getting the ball to the right guy on the floor and it is propelling the offense this season.

Jazz get good win on Saturday, 109-107 over Sonics

The Jazz got a much needed win in which they played well on offense.  Carlos Boozer led the way with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.  Deron Williams had another great night with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists.  Paul Millsap was huge off the bench with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Andrei Kirilenko (11 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists) and Mehmet Okur (12 points, 5 rebounds) each played decent near the basket.

This was a good win for the Jazz, who now sit at 14-4 on the season.

Jazz can’t stop Kobe and get thrashed 132-102 by Lakers

The Lakers shot 60% as a team and out-rebounded the Jazz 43-34.  But the real story was the Jazz’ inability to stop Kobe Bryant who dropped 52 points on them, including 30 in the 3rd quarter alone!

Carlos Boozer did his best with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.  Deron Williams had a solid game running the offense with 13 points and 9 assists.  Paul Millsap had 13 points and 7 rebounds.  Andrei Kirilenko had 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Mehmet Okur added 11 points.

The Jazz dropped to 13-4 on the season after getting beat-down by the Lakers.

Jazz too tough for Spurs in 83-75 win

The Jazz outscored the Spurs 46-36 in the second half on Wednesday Night on their way to victory.  The Jazz held the Spurs to 39.7% from the floor and the Jazz out-rebounded them 50-34.

Carlos Boozer led the way with 23 points and 16 rebounds.  Deron Williams did a good job of directing the offense with 15 points and 9 assists.  Matt Harpring was super-tough with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Mehmet Okur pitched in with 10 points.  Andrei Kirilenko was very busy with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots.

The Jazz moved to 13-3 on the season with this victory.
