The Jazz outrebounded the Raptors 45-34 and that was a key to their victory last night over the Raptors.  Mehmet Okur led the way on the offense with 27 points and 3 rebounds.  Carlos Boozer had an awesome game with 23 points, 19 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Jazz nip the Pistons in Detroit 100-99

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 12:50 pm

The Jazz really needed this win after a couple of tough losses.  Deron Williams had a fantastic game with 31 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists.  Mehmet Okur got some revenge on the Pistons who got rid of him a couple of years ago as he scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.  Carlos Boozer also stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

The Jazz improved to 25-14 with this win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270117008

Gordan Giricek needs to get tougher to play for the Jazz

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 11:48 pm

Gordan Giricek doesn’t fit the mold of a Jazz player as he’s as soft as Charmin.  He’s a decent offensive player, but Jerry Sloan favors the tough guys and some of the younger players on the Jazz are taking minutes away from Giricek.  He’s played in 26 games and is averaging 15.8 minutes, 5.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists this season.

The Jazz lose a heartbreaker at the buzzer 114-111 to the Wizards in Washington

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 7:22 pm

The Jazz just couldn’t stop Gilbert Arenas yesterday.  He scored 51 points against the Jazz, including the dagger…a three-pointer as time expired!  Mehmet Okur had a fantastic game for the Jazz as he scored 38 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and hit 4 three-pointers.  Carlos Boozer was also unstoppable as he scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.  Deron Williams didn’t shoot well (4 of 11) but he still wound up with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals.

This loss really hurts as the Jazz played really hard.  This drops their record to 24-14 on the season.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270115027

Jazz lose tough battle to the Heat 119-110 in Utah

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Sunday 14 January 2007 at 4:30 pm

The Jazz shot 52.2% from the floor but they didn’t play any defense and allowed the Heat to hit 50.8% of their shots from the floor.  The Jazz also had no answer as to how to stop Dwyane Wade, so they kept fouling him and he made 21 of 23 free throws and wound up with 32 points.  Carlos Boozer led the way for the Jazz with 29 points.  Deron Williams had a solid all around game with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Matt Harpring also had a solid game with 18 points off the bench.

The Jazz fell to 24-13 on the season with this loss.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270113026

The Jazz lose 122-114 in OT to the Supersonics in Seattle

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Saturday 13 January 2007 at 2:22 pm

The Jazz played hard last night but they couldn’t stop Ray Allen who dropped 54 points on them last night!  The Jazz were led by a superhuman effort from Carlos Boozer as he scored 32 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and stole the ball 3 times.  Mehmet Okur also had a solid game with 23 points and 8 rebounds.

The Jazz fell to 24-12 on the season with this loss.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270112025

Jazz lose tough battle with Mavericks 108-105 in Utah

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 10 January 2007 at 12:15 pm

The Jazz played pretty well on offense as they hit 50.7% from the floor, but they allowed the Mavericks to hit 52.9% and that’s why they lost.  Carlos Boozer led the way for the Jazz with 29 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  Deron Williams only shot 3 of 11 from the floor but still wound up with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists.

The Jazz fell to 24-11 on the season after this loss.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270109026

Jazz healthy and flying high this season

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 8:50 pm

The Jazz only needed health to return to the top of the Western Conference and they’ve had it this season.  The Jazz have a 6 game lead on the rest of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference as they have a 24-10 record.  The Jazz are also sitting #3 in the Western Conference just 2.5 games behind the Mavericks.  The Jazz have been shooting really well as a team as they’ve hit 47.4% of their shots from the floor which is #5 in the NBA.  The Jazz also have been really hitting the boards hard as they lead the NBA as they get 53.2% of all rebounds in their games.  Carlos Boozer has been dominant this season as he’s averaging 21.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game this season. Deron Williams is also doing a great job at point guard as he’s averaging 16.9 points and 8.8 assists per game this season.  Mehmet Okur is having a good season too as he’s averaging 16.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season.  If the Jazz stay healthy they will be a threat to win the Western Conference.

Deron Williams’ fine play is continuing

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Sunday 7 January 2007 at 1:48 pm

Deron Williams is the player that makes the Jazz offense run like a well-oiled machine.  In his last six games, Williams has averaged 15.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game over that stretch.  Those numbers are very close to his season averages as he’s been a very consistent player for the Jazz.

The Jazz push the Nuggets around in Denver 96-84

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 7 January 2007 at 11:55 am

The Jazz destroyed the Nuggets in the first half 48-32 and cruised to victory in the second half.  The Jazz played great defense all night long as the Nuggets only hit 38.7% from the floor.  Deron Williams had an awesome game running the offense with 28 points, 12 assists and 4 steals.  Carlos Boozer also had a great game with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

The Jazz improved to 24-10 on the season with this win.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270106007
