The Jazz fall 102-94 to the Lakers in Utah

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by alleyoop on Tuesday 27 February 2007 at 10:46 am

The Jazz just faced a Lakers team that wanted this game more than they did as the Lakers outscored the Jazz 32-24 in the 4th quarter.  Deron Williams missed last night’s game with a bum wrist so Derek Fisher started at point guard for the Jazz.  Fisher led the way for the Jazz with 23 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists.  Matt Harpring also had a solid game as he scored 14 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.

Under manned Jazz punish the Celtics 105-87 in Utah

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by alleyoop on Sunday 25 February 2007 at 8:19 am

The Jazz played this game without Mehmet Okur and Andrei Kirilenko due to injury and still kicked the Celtics butts last night!  The Jazz shot 51.3% from the floor as a team and that was a huge factor in the win.  Derek Fisher led the way for the Jazz with 21 points and 3 assists.  Carlos Boozer was dominant when he was on the floor as he scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in only 23 minutes on the floor.

The Jazz acquire forward Alan Henderson from the Sixers for a 2nd round pick

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 22 February 2007 at 4:51 pm

The Jazz added reserve forward Alan Henderson for depth reasons for a 2nd round pick in 2007.  Henderson has played in 34 games this season and he has averaged 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.  Over his career, Henderson has played in 648 games and he has averaged 7.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over his career.  He probably won’t play much for the Jazz but it was still a good trade for insurance reasons.

The Jazz suffer a 103-100 loss to the Trailblazers in Portland

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 2:25 pm

With Deron Williams out for this game the Jazz just couldn’t deal with the young Blazers.  Mehmet Okur had another great game with 25 points and 8 rebounds.  Derek Fisher slid over to point guard and had a really good game.  He scored 20 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, dished out 10 assists and stole the ball 3 times.  Paul Millsap also had a solid game off of the bench with 18 points and 6 rebounds.

The Jazz fell to 35-18 on the season with this loss.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270220022

The Jazz have been awesome this season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 11:22 pm

The Jazz are currently 35-17 and in first place in the Northwest Division and the #3 seed in the Western Conference as of right now.  They have built a 8.5 game lead on the Denver Nuggets with great rebounding which has fueled their whole effort on offense and defense.  The loss of Carlos Boozer will hurt, but he should be back soon.  The real MVP of the Jazz has been 2nd year point guard Deron Williams who has been fantastic this season.  Mehmet Okur has also been very good this season for the Jazz.  The Jazz are a deep basketball team and they are for real.  The Western Conference better watch out as the Jazz have the talent to make a run at the NBA Championship this season!

The Jazz nip the Cavs 99-98 in Utah

The Jazz didn’t play great as a whole last night….but Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur did!  Deron Williams had a fantastic game leading the way for the offense with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists.  Mehmet Okur also had a solid game with 22 points and 5 rebounds.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 1:28 pm

The Jazz never gave the Hawks a shot last night as they raced out to a 50-32 first half lead.  They played great defense as they held the Hawks to 37% shooting from the floor and they outrebounded the Hawks 52-32!  Mehmet Okur led the way for the Jazz with 19 points and 6 rebounds.  Derek Fisher had a decent game too with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Jazz improved to 34-17 on the season with this win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270212026

The Jazz look like they will keep rolling even without Carlos Boozer

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 6 February 2007 at 3:14 pm

The Utah Jazz have been outstanding all season long.  The have won 3 in a row and 7 of their last 10 games!  The Jazz are leading the Northwest Division by 7.5 games and are currently the #3 seed in the Western Conference.  The Jazz should continue to roll this season even without Carlos Boozer.  They will need Andrei Kirilenko and rookie Paul Millsap to hit the boards hard as the Jazz are the best rebounding team in the NBA as they get 53.5% of the total rebounds in the games they play.  Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur are really bringing their games up to a new level and the Jazz have benefitted greatly from that.  Look out for this team at playoff time….because they are for real!
