The Utah Jazz pick Gordon Hayward in the first round

Blogged under Big Jazz News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,The Draft Report by alleyoop on Thursday 24 June 2010 at 7:34 pm

The Jazz have picked 20-year old small forward Gordon Hayward with the 9th overall pick of the NBA Draft. Hayward played in 37 games (all starts) at Butler last season and he averaged 15.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He played in 69 games (all starts) in his two years with Butler and he averaged 14.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Hayward will likely be coming off the bench as a rookie with the idea that he could fill Kyle Korver’s shoes as instant offense off the bench.

Hayward will have the starting spot at the 3 by January.

I’m not so sure about that Bill. Kirilenko isn’t going anywhere this off-season. I’m not completely sold on Hayward as he’ll have to show me how good he is against quality competition every night.
